Hello fellow travelers,
I am planning a trip to the Bernese Overland/lauterbrunnen area in Sept of 2024 and then to Lake Como. When mapping the driving route, I am being routed southwest (counter clockwise) over the E62 rather than northeast along the A2 and through the Gotthard pass. Any ideas if the Gotthard is only open one way, to north-going traffic only? This would be a major bummer and add over 90 minutes to our drive!

What route would you like to take to get to the Gotthard Road Tunnel entrance?
The Gotthard Road tunnel is periodically closed for maintenance over night. I see this on Google
Every year, the Gotthard Tunnel is closed in March/April (1 week), June (2 weeks), and September/October (3-4 weeks) for 26 nights. Until October, the tunnel is therefore scheduled to be closed to traffic on Monday to Friday nights, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
