Is the Gotthard Pass traffic as bad as the tunnel in July? My itinerary has me driving from Locarno to Lucerne Saturday July 6

I think that the OP is talking about things like this, NickB:

Hearing about a traffic jam at the tunnel is a common occurrence. It is a legitimate question.
Hopefully someone with experience driving the pass at that time of year can comment.

Agree NickB. I understand there will be some traffic and stopping to enjoy the view. My preferred view is something other than the same taillights for 2 hours. I was looking if the reported 1-2 hour delays are to enter the tunnel and not the mountain road.
