Good Morning Ticket on Jungfraujoch - How early to buy?

Hello! I'll be traveling with my husband and two teens to Switzerland in mid-June. We're pricing out tickets and plan on getting the Good Morning tickets for the Jungfraujoch if the weather is good. Question I have - should we purchase these tickets a day or two before or can they be purchased the morning that we go? Thanks!

Wait until you have a weather report. Probably the day before. Enjoy!

Last summer, we purchased the morning we went. Try to do as early as possible, it was clouded in by the time we came back down at around 2 pm.

That ticket is really only an advantage if you have no other passes/discount cards. Are you not getting any of those for your trip?

We have to rent a car because we are visiting friends/family who live further away from easier public transport. I had hoped to do the trains but the extra fees for dropping off in a different country don't make any economic sense for this trip. Glad that the Good Morning ticket is an option!

So are you saying that the only train transportation you're doing in all of Switzerland is Jungfraujoch? You're never going anywhere else only accessible by cable car/train? If you're wanting to explore the mountains, even with a car you still have to take public transportation and it adds up quicker than you think, so you may end up still wanting to get something like a half fare card, unless everything else you're doing is just drivable.

The Good Morning Ticket used to be cheaper, but now it gives only a 15% discount.

Good Morning Ticket is 182.00 return including mandatory seat reservation. You can only use it on the first two trains going up (or first three, depending on the season).

A ticket for any time of the day with HFC costs 120.00 including seat reservation

So if you are going up other mountains, which generally cost 60.00/person or more, it could be worth your while to get the HFC. It also gives you half price on boats, busses and trains.
