Hello! My daughter and I are traveling to Switzerland in July (staying in Geneva) and don't have a lot of time there. We want to take the Golden Pass train roundtrip in one day for one leg from Montreaux to Zweisimmen and back.
I am wondering a few things:
--is it feasible to plan to do a roundtrip in one day as far as how long it will take and the usual available trains scheduled?
--what is the best website to buy tickets? I feel like I keep landing on sponsored third party sites and I want to buy direct.
--I saw that it was 90 days for how far out I can buy tickets but today, I was told I can't buy until 60 days out. Which is correct?
Thanks in advance for the help!
Both time frames can be correct . The " general " rule is 90 days , but some trains are 60 or 120 , and it is not cut and dried . Go to this site for a complete and reliable summary of what applies to specific trips . https://www.seat61.com/ Also the Golden Pas is not an SBB train ( Swiss Federal Railway ) , it is operated by MOB ( Montreux Oberland Bernois ) https://mob.ch/ You can buy the tickets there , direct purchase
Here is the link to their own website, not a third party:

If you go through their “buy a ticket” process, you will find that July is too far out—-it says 60 days in advance.
Thank you so much!!!
