Golden Pass - Lucerne to Interlaken - Book in advance?

Based upon what I've found it seems like there isn't a need to get tickets in advance for a train from Lucrene to/from Interlaken. We are traveling in late May. We are waiting to see what the weather is like before we decide when we are doing a day trip to Interlaken (vs. staying in Lucrene and going up the mountain).

Are we going to have any issues getting tickets for 4 on one of these hourly trains. Do they sell out? Sounds like there isn't much difference of views with different seating areas on this section of the Golden Pass.

When we were there in June 2017, we did not make reservations and had no problem getting seats on the train. There were plenty of spaces.

I did this trip last year and did make a reservation. I didn’t need to, but it was lovely to see my name on a seat waiting for me. Some parts of the track were out due to weather and they refunded my reservation fees. Swiss trains are wonderful!

My family made this trip several year ago in June Interlaken -> Montreux, and we did have reservations. The train was packed and we actually had to request people in our seat to vacate.
