In late May, we will be in Montreux for a few days before taking the Golden Pass train to Interlaken then on to Lauterbrunnen. We have 2nd class Eurail passes, but will need reservations for the Golden Pass. Is it advisable to book reservations before leaving the States or can they be made once in Montreux a few days ahead of taking the Golden Pass? Also, we will be going up to the Jungfraujoch while in Wengen. Again, can reservations be made a few days ahead, or better to book earlier from the States?
How many in your group? Reservations are not required on the Golden Pass trains, but recommended for groups that want to sit together
I would not make reservations for the Jungfraujoch until I was absolutely sure of clear weather, which would be the day before at the earliest.
Thank you, Sam. There is only my wife and myself traveling.
