Glacier Express verses Interlaken area

We are in the beginning stages of planning a three week trip to Europe with my active 82 year old mother. We plan on spending 5-6 days in Switzerland. We’ve seen videos about the Zermatt area/Glacier Express as well as the Interlaken/Berner Oberland area. We are trying to figure out if the two days spent on the Glacier Express to San Moritz and back is worth it or would it be better to spend a bit more time in the Berner Oberland area. My husband and I are fairly active and wouldn’t mind doing a little hiking. My mother, although quite spry for an 82 year old cannot handle hikes and has said she doesn’t mind relaxing some where if we want to do a little hiking.
We’d appreciate any invite from any of you who have done both and can give us some things to consider or direction as to what you might do with your 82 year old mother.

Edit: we will probably in the area end of the first week of May and into the second week.

First week of May is still in the maintenance season in the Bernese Oberland. That means that many cable cars will still be closed. It is not the best time for a visit here. Most hiking paths will still be closed as well.
