Hi all,
For those of you who’ve traveled in early June, were the trains already running full? I’m wondering if you think I need to make advance reservations for the GE for June 8. It’s not high season but it is early summer. The Man in Seat 61 explains how to make a reservation without buying a ticket (we’ll be using a Swiss Travel Pass) but if it isn’t necessary at that time of year, I’d like to have the flexibility of changing a day or time. What do you think?

we took the Bernina Express mid to late October and at least our car was full. I wouldn't think that were high season, either.

if you watch vloggers, the trains are big tourist magnets and seem to run full

Emily, our trip was in Fall of 2019, we got it in before the world blew up. :( If it is important to you to get the special scenic trains, I'd make a reservation. Otherwise, there are "regular" trains that take the same route.
