Great news if you're looking for some fun to do from anywhere in Switzerland! I'll be in Zurich for 3 nights so I may have to try and do this if at all possible!
If you are just travelling in Switzerland a Swiss Pass has even better coverage. And no pass is worth it unless you do enough trips to exceed the cost of just buying tickets.

I'll have a 2nd class Global eurail pass (22 days continuous)
You'll still need to pay for a seat reservation. However, if you choose to take one of the "normal" trains that travel that route you won't need a reservation.
