Glacier Express - Davos to Lauterbrunnen June 29

Hi Fellow Travelers,
A friend and I finish a conference in Davos on the morning of June 29th. We want to travel to Lauterbrunnen and it seems that the Glacier Express would be a beautiful choice. The train schedule is not yet published for the summer, and I have no idea if I can make reservations and connections that will leave on the morning of June 29th and get us to Lauterbrunnen that evening. Does anyone know if this is realistic, and how I can find out how to do this. We will get the Swiss Rail Pass but I believe there is an extra charge to take the Glacier Express.

Thank you so much!

It is showing at www.sbb,ch. You actually have a choice of 3 departures, 8:31, 9:31, 10:31. You start at Davos Platz station with a half hour ride to Filisur where you will get the actual Glacier Express. Its only a 5 minute change so hustle because you need to take the crossover tunnel to the other platform. Then its about 5 1/2 hours to Brig. Change trains there to Spiez then another change to Interlaken Ost, and finally a change to Lauterbrunnen. You get there at 4:25 PM, 5:25 PM, or 6:25 PM depending on which departure you choose.
Glacier Express trains have a separate reservation fee, I think it is around 35 chf in the summer.

Thank you so much for this information Sam! It is a great relief to know that this can be done in a day!

I tried the site and got this response....." Davos to Lauterbrunnen At this time, our online system can't find tickets or schedules for this trip." Would you know how I can make reservations ....?... if I cannot get to the site?

The tickets will not go on sale until a month before your planned departure date. So you can wait.
One tip to save you the price of a Swiss beer. When you stay at a hotel in Davos, you will get a guest transport card so you can ride the city buses in town as well as ride the local trains between Klosters and Filisur for the length of your stay. So it should be dated with your check out date and will remain valid until the end of the day. When you buy the Glacier Express ticket, specify starting from Filisur, since you can ride to Flilsur free with your guest card. Of course, if you get a Swiss Pass, it won't matter.
