We (2 0f us) will be in Gimmelwald Jul 16 - 18 (3 nights), looking for a place to stay that has availability. Any suggestions?
There aren’t a lot of options in Gimmelwald. If the options that Rick recommends don’t have availability, you might check booking.com. If those don’t appeal to you, you might look in Murren or Wengen. There are a lot more options there.
KSU tom, Gimmlewald is so tiny, that there's intentionally little tourist infrastructure there. You might consider staying just up the hill in Mürren, where there are more options. It's no less beautiful. Rick likes Gimmelwald because of its story and the fact that it is so tiny. You can walk there to/from Mürren in a leisurely 20 minutes.
Thanks to all of you for your responses, they were very helpful. We found a place to stay in Murren and looking forward to our trip. Thanks again to all of you and to Ben.
Take MySwissLife's time estimate for the walk TO Murren with an American grain of salt! Okay, I'm 77, but a giid walker. I'm not sure I even made it downhill to Gimmelwald from Murren in 20 minutes. I think I would die trying to do the uphill walk in any amount of time - take the lift!
Although you've now found accommodations in Mürren, there are a number of places in Gimmelwald you could stay, if you want to note them for future reference....
Thanks, MySwissLife - my mistake, but I love your corroboration.
