Getting around in Lauterbrunnen, including to Trummelbach falls

We will be visiting Interlaken toward the end of September and have a couple of questions about visiting surrounding areas using the Swiss Travel Pass. Once we arrive in Lauterbrunnen or other nearby towns, what are the options fir getting around other than walking? Specifically in Lauterbrunnen to get to the Trummelbach falls? Thanks Steve

You can find all public transit schedules on www.sbb.ch. So if you want to find out how to get from Interlaken to the Trummelbach falls you can just search that there.

From just outside the Lauterbrunnen train station, you can catch the bus to Trummelbach falls. Bus 141 I think it is. To get up to Wengen, you take the train. To get up to Murren, you can take the cable car. All of that is covered by your Pass. If you go higher than Murren and Wengen, you will need to buy a ticket and will get a discount with the Pass.

Like Wengen mentioned, in the SBB app, you can enter Lauterbrunnen to Trummelbach falls (or wherever) and the app will show you all your options. I suggest downloading the app before you leave and become familiar with it. While your trains rides will be covered with the Pass, you’ll want to check the app for times and platform numbers.

Have a great trip!!

We walked, but there was one person on our tour that rented a bike to get there. I enjoyed the walk very much.

Please be very aware of what your pass covers. The STP does NOT cover the trains that go above Wengen and we watched people being fined for thinking they did.

Also be aware that there are no free entries and almost no discounts at Trummelbach Falls for any travel passes. Someone did mention getting a discount of 1 CHF for an adult with their Jungfrau Region Travel Card.
