Geneva, Switzerland area , swiss tour then on to Greece- advice please

We are flying to Geneva, Switzerland with our 2 newly graduated kids as a grad gift and this is out first time overseas. We hope to be able to see the main sites in Switzerland for 5-6 days before flying to Athens to start a tour of Greece. We are looking at the last 2 weeks of June for this trip.

Would love advice on how to get from place to place and what sites we should make sure to see along the way. We love to hike, kayak, shop, enjoy culinary experiences, see historical places,...Kids are 18 and 23 so wine tastings are good too

Thanks in advance for advice.

You might look at other cities in Switzerland. Unless you are interesting in CERN, I thought the other cities we visited were much more interesting, and still expensive, but less so. Switzerland has an excellent train system. Great hiking in Berner Oberland area. Cities we've liked include Bern, Basel, Luzern, Chur. If you want to stay near Geneva on the lake, maybe look at Lausanne. There is wine tasting close to there.

You're not going to see all the main sites in Switzerland in 5-6 days. If you're flying in and out of Geneva then I'd probably land in Geneva, immediately train to Luzern or the Jungfrau Region (Wengen or Grindelwald) for 4 days of hiking, lake experiences, etc. and then end with a couple days in Montreux for Lavaux vineyards, wine, food, Chateau de Chillon castle, boat ride, etc. This will give you a taste of the country without spending your short time moving too often.

To see transportation times & info, visit SBB.ch/en and perhaps peruse www.swissfamilyfun.com to get some ideas as well.

Thank you soooo much for the insight. Switzerland is just a quick stop for us on this trip as my kids want to see Greece as well. So we will make the most out 4-5 days there. Very happy to take all advice you can give us.

Wondering if we could take a train from Geneva to Zermatt, stay there for 2 days, then take a train to Florence Italy? then to Rome then catch a flight from Rome to Athens?
