Looking for hotel recommendations in Geneva near the train station. Rick doesn't have anything in his guide book. Also, I understand there's a redlight area near the train station. I have no issue with redlight activities, but am somewhat concerned about safety when walking about.

Geneva is not the typical Swiss Tourist Destination. Our last trip involved a morning flight from Geneva so we stayed here:

Not particularly interesting but clean and near the train station. We've also stayed at the Manotel Edelweiss Hotel farther from the station, but it was clean, located not far from the lake and had a wonderful dinner room with a horribly touristy dinner show :-) Horribly touristy but still fun, and the food was excellent.

Thanks for responding. Did the area around the train station and the Hotel Stasburg (the Geneva red light district) feel safe? I have read some comments from people who say to avoid it.

We had zero problems and didn't even notice it to be a red light district.
