Geneva Airport To Aigle

Hello all,
Trying to figure out how much time I need to give ourselves from onboarding the airplane and getting to the train.

Couldn't find any direct answers to my query.

We are heading to Aigle, CH and unto Huemoz on Friday September 27 th . Want to buy the super saver tickets today.
Also, I can't seem to buy tickets online right now
I am on sbb.ch

Thank you

Are you arriving from North America? Why are you so sure your plane will land on time? Is 20 CHF (savings over just buying a ticket on arrival) that much that you will be OK worrying about it for the next 24 days?

Just buy a ticket when you arrive.

It isn't the cost...I thought I had to buy ahead to make sure I get a ticket in case they are sold out

Thank you for responding

Swiss trains do not sell out. There are 2 direct trains from GVA to Aigle every hour. A SuperSaver ticket bought a month in advance has no more rights to a seat than a person who bought a ticket on their app standing on the platform 5 minutes before departure.

Since the train originates at GVA, you should have no problem finding a seat, as the train will start empty when it gets spotted on the platform.

Train tickets are for a route, not a train. The railway does not even know (nor care) which train a ticket is going to be used on in most cases.

So you can buy a ticket Geneva Airport - Aigle in advance, but make sure you pay a normal ticket, not a supersaver. Normal (For some unfathomable reason called "point to point") tickets are valid a whole day, and entitle you to a single trip on the route you bought, on any service on the route.

Then in Geneva you just walk to the station, get on the train, find a few free seats and enjoy the trip.

Trains are mass transit. This is like taking the subway, just with nicer trains.
