Geneva airport

How much time ahead is needed to arrive for a flight around 3:00 pm early September

Depends on where the flight is heading. To North America, 3 hours is generally recommended. For flights to other European destinations, 2 hours is usually enough. What does your air carrier recommend?

Where are you headed? Domestic or overseas? Before Covid the convention was 2 hrs for domestic and 3 hours for international. Maybe look at the Geneva Airport website and see what that says.

Are you connecting on the way? Can't find any nonstops to Boston from GVA.

No, but I staid in the same hotel one night in Padova 10 years ago.

If you are flying to Munich first, it is essentially a domestic flight, so 2 hours should be enough, but again ask Lufthansa their recommendation.
