Can anyone suggest a few day trips from Geneva ( our home base ) any recommendations on Day Trip guides would be appreciated
What do you like to do? Boat rides? Vineyards? Mountain top excursions? Castles?
What time of year?
Mid October is when we plan to travel. We enjoy history, wineries , authentic cuisine
You can visit the La Vaux vineyards along Lake Geneva.

You could visit Chateau de Chillon in Montreux. Unfortunately, Sunday Oct 12 is the last day can visit by boat, but always open via train and bus.

We spent a week in Geneva recently. Chamonix made for an excellent day trip by car. By train it looks like 3 hours each way, so not as good.
Pick up a Frommers and/or a Fodors guide. In case you haven't looked, Rick doesn't cover Geneva in his guidebooks - he doesn't find it that interesting.
There are also lots of Youtube videos.
Neuchâtel and Lausanne are both very nice. It's not quite a day trip as it's just outside Geneva but I've also really enjoyed going up Salève.
