Ha! The rabble doesn’t know what they’re missing. :-) The Swiss made Lindt really is noticeably better quality than what we get here.

Will have the Lindt Chocolate experience in Zurich in a couple of weeks, but why not stop in while in Lucerne too? Can you experience too much chocolate? It can't possibly taste like Costco Lindt!
Some of us “rabble” don’t even get into a Costco, and Lindt bars have gotten so expensive that it’s maybe worth considering making a trip all the way to Switzerland to get better chocolate, without paying U.S. prices!
FWIW, Safeway has a “Buy 2, Get One Free” offer this week, along with a “sale,” so for bars that are now regularly priced at $6.99 apiece (!!!!), you can get three for $9.98.
The Safeway grocery store’s house brand for dairy is Lucerne, so they’re trying to infer some kind of a connection.

$11.50 now for the dark chocolate classic recipe hazelnut bar, if you can find it…….despondent! Of course what’s better is being at the Lindt factory and buying a package as they make it in front of you…….
I don't think the Lindt bars sold in the US are made in Switzerland. Check the back of the wrapper. Sometimes I find chocolate actually made in Europe at Trader Joe's (Belgium) and World Market.
I am proud to say that chocolate from my April trip to the NL and Belgium actually lasted a little over 3 months. My carry-on suitcase was full of chocolate. That's the beauty of only taking four outfits. 🙃
Thank you for posting this. We were sad to miss the one in Zurich because we chose to stay in other cities. Now we can check this out when we’re in Luzern.
We did the new Lindt Chocolate Experience in Lucerne this past week and really enjoyed it! I can’t compare it to the Zurich location because I have not been but the Lucerne location feels so fresh and beautiful! We received so much chocolate in many forms that it more than paid for the admission price. I recommend it!
I second the review given by tripleblessings. We were there last Friday and did the chocolate experience. They were so generous with samples and a gift at the end and it wasn’t busy at all. The clerk told us that since the chocolate experience is new there, not many people know about it yet.
Hopefully people know about the Lindt problems with using Child Labor and the high levels of Lead and Cadmium in their Dark Chocolates. The links are easily found but I can post them if requested.

I see Ghirardelli’s is 100% child free labor but then it’s also owned by Lindt….
I had Sprüngli chocolates for the first time recently. They were absolutely delicious. A grade above Lindt perhaps. My neighbour upstairs is Swiss and she gave me a box of chocolates as a gift for minding her cats while she was away.

Hi all! In Switzerland now and the price of chocolate is up considerably from one year ago! Even our favorite 70% dark chocolate house brand from COOP is noticeably higher and scarcer. BUT, still less expensive and better than US versions.
We are going to have to try to bring home an annual supply. Might have to throw away clothes to make room…
We just did this and I think it is a tourist trap and not worth the price of admission. Very short and only 3 chocolate fountains. They give you a small box of 6 balls and you can take some squares of chocolate, only dark and vanilla. They gave us a chocolate ball on the way out too. We went to Aldi’s down the street and bought 9 large bars for the same price as two admissions.
I was in Lucerne last weekend and just stopped in the store—no tour—as I had taken the one in Zurich a few years ago. The store was so crowded.
They had a new chocolate ball flavor—golden caramel. Delicious!
I agree that you can find excellent chocolate in the Swiss grocery stores. One of my favorites is the Frey chocolate bars found in the Migros grocery stores.
