We are flying into Geneva in early March and only have three days in Switzerland before having to be in Lyon, France the 4th day. We are not big skiers, but are trying to decide whether to go to Interlaken for 2 nights - or just stay in French Switzerland around Lake Geneva. However we are worried that winter is not the best time to do things around Lake Geneva, as it seems like the boats do not run and many tours are closed. Any advice from fellow travelers who have been in that area at this time?
You could visit Annecy or Chamonix village in France. Great places for winter
Stays.
The mountains are where the action is during the winter, and you don't need to be a skier to enjoy it. There is sledding, snow shoeing, parapenting. Many will just ride up on a lift, park themselves on a lounge chair on a deck, and if it is sunny and warm, work on their tans. A big pot of fondue inside a cozy Swiss chalet with a bottle of fendant. Life is good.
