free travel for kids?

Hello!

We will be going to Switzerland in June with my two children. I am trying to figure out if we should buy the Swiss Pass or Half-Price Pass or not. I understand that children travel for fee if at least one parent purchases a pass. Would anybody happen to know if kids would travel for free or with the same adult discount on lifts/gondolas/cable cars if we purchased the pass?

Thank you so much!

The Swiss Family Card allows kids under 16 to travel free on all transportation when you travel with them, regardless of whether you're using a full-coverage pass day or buying a discounted ticket for the parent. Tim's link above applies to buying regular tickets in Switzerland, not the tourist deals.

Under 6 are free. This is pretty much universal for lifts/gondalas/cable cars--even busy and out of the way.

Yeah. Consistently they would ask us what we needed, then ask our Kinder, "How old are you?" with a smile. With a bigger smile our Kinder would reply--holding up fingers for emphasis! It gets more expensive for us soon...

Good trip!
