My wife and I will be arriving in Switzerland via train from Paris in early July. We have four nights in Switzerland before leaving for Florence, again via train. I was hoping for some itinerary suggestions for our four Swiss nights taking into account our arrival from Paris with an endpoint of Florence. Also, would you suggest a rail pass or purchase each leg separately for our Swiss travel. Thanks in advance for your help.

If you can't tell Tom where you will be, can you tell me what sorts of things you want to do and what you like? There must have been reasons you picked Switzerland in order to want to be there for 4 nights. Can you share those? When you think "Switzerland", what do you think of?
The country is small enough that many choices are available, all allowing arrival from Paris and departure to Florence.

Sorry for being so vague. We were drawn by the beautiful scenery of Switzerland and the opportunities to explore the mountains via hiking, trains, & cable cars. My wife and I are very active, but I would not say we are mountain hikers being from Florida. We were thinking of at least two of the four days in the Berner Oberland area, but were unsure if this would be a realistic destination via train from Paris. Should we stop in Lausanne or Bern first or go all the way to say Murren?
