Food in Luzern

Can anyone advise a reasonable priced restaurant to eat Alpine Macaroni?

Taube in Luzern is a good option - nice restaurant, a little on the pricey side. The Rathaus Brauerei is also a good choice, although I just checked their latest menu and seems like the Älplermagronen is no longer on the menu - a shame, because it was really good and better value. You could double check. I think Pfistern along the river nearby also has Älplermagronen on the menu.

Will you do any day trips into the mountains? If so, would recommend getting Älplermagronen up there - most of the mountain restaurants serve it and it could be fun to try it then.

For those who are curious, Älpler Magronen is a traditional dish of macaroni and cheeses and potatoes, topped with carmelized onions and crispy bacon.

Of the answers generated by the bot, only the first is a Luzern restaurant with Älpler magronen on the menu. Rathaus Brauerai, as noted above, no longer lists it—-their menu is heavily weighted toward meat dishes, especially sausages. The Alpenclub is in Engelberg, not Luzern, and Swiss Chichinis in the Hotel,Adler in Zurich.

Thanks for the responses. I think we all can do a Google search. I asking for first hand accounts
The Pfister and Wirthouse look good. Thanks for the suggestions.

It turns out I can personally recommend Wirthaus Taube ( although not specifically their Alpine macaroni.). We had dinner there last September. I did not recognize the name, because we sat at some outside tables right on the river, a bit away from the restaurant entrance and sign. But looking at the location and the menu, I can see that is where we ate. I had the large mixed salad topped with fish. I do not recall what my husband ordered, but he liked it.

Note that their iteration of Alpine macaroni is vegetarian, so there is no bacon on top.

I understand your frustration lsmith7823 .

I have never had the dish you want but I have eaten many meals in and around Luzern

I do often know how to tell when a spammer is at work, and now we are learning to tell when an AI (Artificial Intelligence, as it is called) is at work.

I'm sorry you don't yet have good answers for your Alpine Macaroni in Luzern.

When you are trying to save a little money and want a relatively quick meal, I like Manora which is just up from the lake near the covered bridge.
