Flying into Zurich, should we skip Lucern & go directly to the Berner Oberland area?

Flying into Zurich arrive about 9 am. We planned on spending our first night in Lucern before heading to Murren for the next for 4 nights. Now I'm thinking it might be a good idea to skip Lucern altogether and go directly to the Berner Oberland area which would give us an extra day. Maybe stay one night in Lauterbrunnen to explore that area of the valley before heading up for 4 nights in Murren. Thoughts and recommendations?

Murren, Lauterbrunnen, Gimmelwald and Wengen are all so close you can easily get back and forth between them (no matter where you stay) to do plenty of sightseeing. An extra day in the BO is a good thing but don't think you need to spend the extra night in a different village just to see it.

Sue,

I wouldn't suggest skipping Lucerne for one extra night in the Berner Oberland. If anything, I'd suggest adding a night there as it's a beautiful and interesting city with lots to do. As the previous reply mentioned, the towns in the Lauterbrunnen Valley are all close together so there's no point in spending one night in Lauterbrunnen and then four nights in Mürren.
