Flying from US to Munich then driving to Switzerland

Hello all,

We are traveling to Germany next month with a stop for three days in Interlaken. Do we need to fill out any paperwork before entering into Switzerland from Germany?

Also, we will be spending our time in the Berner Oberland region, I was think of getting the regional pass. Good idea? We will have a rental car, but would really like to take some train transport. Definitely going up the Shlithorn and possibly Jungfrau and/or FIRST. Since we don't know what the weather will b, its hard to determine which mountains we will be doing.

Thank you,

Sean

Got one of the worst sunburns I've ever had on the top of my head on the FIRST, after a snowfall end of August. Wear a hat.

The Lötschberg Tunnel (car on train) might interest you between Bern and Valais. You could make it to Zermatt and or Saas Fee if you go for a longer stay.

A small question: Are you sure having a car is a good idea? Munich to Switzerland is an easy train trip and I can't see a reason for driving unless you want to make a lot of stops along the way. And once in Switzerland the trains will take you almost anywhere, including places where you can't drive.

And since you're from Florida, how experienced are you with alpine roads in November?

Smart to drive or not, remember to purchase and attach a Swiss Vignette for the car so you can drive on the motorways without getting fined. Cost is 40 CHF I believe.

You might think about buying a regional ski pass (Sportpaesse Jungfrau), even if you don't ski. It includes free use of all the rail lines from Interlaken to Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen, Muerren, Wengen, Kleine Scheidegg, as well as all the ski lifts. The only thing not covered is the train from Kleine Scheidegg to the Jungfraujoch, and then you only have to pay for that portion.
Cost is 221 CHF for 3 days and 149 CHF for 2 days.

We will be making many stops and Munich and Interlaken are not our only stops over.

When in Austria in March 2016. We had to drive to Fussen after the snow fall. I am not born and raised in Florida, lol. I have driven in lots of snow.
