hey hey switzerland travelers
an annual activity bringing the cows home from the hills to the plains. cows are dressed up with flower decorated headdresses and clanging cow bells around their neck, locals in traditional dress, music & dancing, craft booths, homemade cheeses from the mountain, food booths. this activity is usually end of september/ first weekend of october.

we were in annecy last september and missed it but saw the cows throughout some of the countryside pastures wearing their bells, a sight to see and hear. of course i bought two bells, mom was a cowgirl raised on a ranch in hawaii, an omen for my sister and i.
if you're in the area of these villages, a different kind of festival to attend and have fun. enjoy

Yes, we left Mürren one day too early for this a few years ago -- darn ! Wish we could have stayed.
