fast or scenic train from Wengen to Lausanne

After spending 4 nights in Luzern, and 6 nights in Wengen we will be heading to Lausanne to stay with family friends, one night in Lausanne area and two nights in Geneva, leaving Wengen on Friday morning sept 2. My "dilemma" is that the main time to see Lausanne would be the afternoon of the Sept 2 and if we take the scenic route via Zweisimmen, the Golden Pass route, its two hours longer than the less scenic Wengen-Bern-Lausanne route. The quicker route means we have the heart of the afternoon to see Lausanne, the scenic route means time is more rushed.
And we wouldn't want to leave extra early from Wengen that morning. For us, not getting up early is part of the whole idea of enjoyable travel. On our trip we will be spending time in plenty of beautiful scenery, taking plenty of beautiful train rides, so just wondering how much extra special the Golden pass route would be.

I’d take the faster train. I found most of the train rides in Switzerland to be scenic, whether they were labeled that way or not.

If your goal is to do Lausanne then skip the Golden Pass Route.
I did not find it all that special from Interlaken to Montreux.
My gauge is would I repeat again? and that answer is no.
Whereas I know I want to repeat the Bernina Express route to get off at certain spots.
Anyway you will have seen enough given your time on trains from Luzern and than the time in Wengen.
And to echo Carrie, I have been regular trains no theme and still wow it is beautiful everywhere.

No need for the premium train on that route.
Enjoy Switzerland 🇨🇭

I thought the Golden Pass leaving Interlaken was pretty awesome, arriving in Montreux not so much

I'll add that the train ride from Bern to Lausanne is quite scenic already! Sit on the left for great views of the Lavaux vineyards and the lake as you descend towards Lausanne.
