I am headed to Europe this summer with 7ish days in Switzerland then going to salzburg, Vienna, Prague and Munich. I am struggling to understand the difference in the train prices. I dont know whether the euro pass or the Swiss pass would be better. If anyone has any guidance, please let me know!
What is your itinerary within Switzerland? Depending on where you want to go and what mountain/cablecar/gondola rides it would take to do it— the Swiss Travel Pass might make sense.
For Traveling by train to Munich, Salzburg, Vienna and Prague, you can buy discounted train tickets in advance of your trip. The Czech national railway website www.Cd.cz/en has great deals for trains traveling from the Czech Republic to and from neighboring countries. Regiojet has good prices for the Vienna to Salzburg leg. DeutscheBahn offers deeply-discounted tickets when bought in advance— the Munich to Salzburg leg can cost as little as €13.

In Switzerland the Eurail Pass only covers the main railways. The Swiss Travel Pass otoh covers all public transit (down to the last bus and tram). The reductions given by the Swiss Travel Pass are also very useful. The Eurailpass only gives you reductions on mountain railway on days that it is activated.
