Eurail flexible pass and discounts on rail and cable prices in Berner Oberland area of Switzerland

We are traveling to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland in the fall. I am planning to buy a Eurailpass for train travel. I have read that holders of a Eurailpass get a 25% discount on train and cable car travel in the Berner Oberland area. My question is, if you take advantage of that discount, are you also using one of your travel days on the Eurailpass?
Thank you in advance for your reply.

No, a percentage discount never uses one of your counted travel days on a flexi-style of pass. The Selectpass now covers four countries, so you'll have to name and pay for another one, even if you don't travel there. Separate, 2nd-class Austria-Germany and Swiss passes are another option, which may not be cheaper, but if costs are similar, would give more coverage and discounts around Berner Oberland.
