Hi, worrying a bit about logistics plan. We will be arriving at ZUR at 6:15 via Finnair. As I understand it since we will be coming from another Schengen country we will not need to deal with EES - is that correct?
Will need to retrieve checked luggage. Planning to catch the 7:35 train from ZUR to Lucerne, and will need to buy Swiss Pass then (hopefully can purchase in advance?).
My understanding from RS Switzerland book is that we will arrive on 3rd floor of ZUR and depart on the train on the 1st (and hoping to snag dinner from the food court on the main level).
Do we have enough time allowance to make the 7:35 train?

The trains run every 20 to 30 minutes and take about an hour. Take your time.

Two trains each hour run from Zurich’s airport to Lucerne. ( 7:35 8:10 8:35 9:10) You can talk to the people at the SBB ( Swiss train company) desk at the airport and they can help you decide which Swiss train pass to buy. With the train pass, you can simply jump on any train and the pass is your train ticket.

Coming from Finland you will not have to go through passport control. So it all depends on how long it takes you to get your luggage. I usually am on the train home around 40 to 50 minutes after touch down.
You can buy the Swiss Travel Pass (not the Swiss Pass, that is a completely unrelated product) on www.swissrailways.com in advance, and then when you arrive you just get on the next train to Luzern.
Trains are mass transit. This is a trivial trip. Don't fret in advance which train you will be able to take.

are you talking about PM? If so add 12 hours to your times and they will match the timetable - trains and planes and other published times in most of Europe use the 24 hour clock so your flight will be due in at 1815, the train you are hoping for is 1935.
Hope that removes confusion.

i was wondering about them buying dinner at breakfast time......
anyway the airport code is ZRH. arrivals is on Level 0, the railway ticket desk and some shopping is on Level -1 and the actual trains are at Level -2.
