We plan to break out 2 week trip in June between the BO and the Engadine Valley. There will be five of us and we will have a car. We will be arriving and departing from Zurich. I am looking for ideas and opinions of where to stay as a base in the Engadine. Should we break it up and spend 2-3 nights in the lower Engadine (Scoul, Guarda, or???) and 2-3 in the upper Engadine (Portresina, Sils Maria, Soglio or ??) or would we be better off choosing a central location and do day trips from there. If so where would you recommend? We are most interested in the the small villages and the natural beauty of the valley picnicking, walking, gondola's and funiculars to the mountain peaks. We will have an 84 year old with us so our hikes will be limited unless one stays back with her and enjoys the valley floor. We have never been to this area before and appreciate any guidance you can give including hotels, things to do, restaurants, villages to see. We will then head off to Murren for the remainder of our trip. Thank you in advance
