End of an era at Eiger Guesthouse in Murren

We are staying at Eiger Guesthouse in Murren, and it is truly a phenomenal place to stay, in large part due to the wonderful staff here. Emma, the host here for 6 years, had her farewell party tonight, as she is leaving to open her own restaurant. It seemed like half of Murren turned out to wish her well, and I would like to do my part by letting you know where her bistro will be.

Emma's new place is called Hirschen, and is located in Aarberg, a village located between Bern and Lake Bielersee. If her work at Eiger Guesthouse is any indication, I am sure her bistro will be a fantastic place to eat if you are in Aarberg...

We are loving Murren, btw!

I wish her lots of success in her future endeavours. She was one of the many reason why I loved Murren.

We loved the Eiger Guesthouse, too, and Emma's warm hospitality. She will be missed!

Emma was indeed a great host and businesswomen. The food at the guesthouse was amazing and one of the highlights my last visit to the Berner Oberland.

My stay at the Eiger Guesthouse was great; I think that ate at the restaurant 3 of our 4 nights in Murren. But what really made our stay at the Eiger Guesthouse special was how Emma took the time to show us the hikes on the map and even to explain the route that we should to take up to the Schilthorn and which to take back down (one route is steeper and though harder to go up, would have been tougher on the knees going down). She was at the guesthouse at the end of the afternoon to hear about our hiking adventures and help plan the next day.
