Eating in Zermatt

I’ll be in Zermatt for two nights next month and am looking for restaurant recommendations in the moderate range, maybe $25.-40. I’ll be by myself and I understand fondue is usually served for two, but how about raclette? I like most kinds of food. Thanks!

Hopefully there will be some here who can recommend a restaurant to you. All I can tell you is that raclette is something that you can order a single portion of.

You can try searching restaurant reviews online and then check some of the menus of specific restaurants mentioned…maybe you will find one willing to do a single portion of cheese fondue.
Another Swiss cheese thing to try is Käsekuchen (cheese pie). I sometimes grab a slice of this from a local bakery for lunch - rich, but delicious.

Maybe not exactly the kind of food you're looking for, but The Brown Cow pub had good food , reasonably priced (for Zermatt). Also there's an Italian restaurant across the street from it, I think it was Osteria Bella Italia which was very good, a little pricier than the pub though.

sorry, it was Grampi's Italian restaurant I was thinking of....

Glad to see I can get raclette for one. Also, I recently read some reviews and Grampi’s looked good. Can’t go wrong with Italian food. Thanks!

This tends to be dismissed but I've always had good luck asking at the front desk of my hotel. Yes I'm sure they get some kind of kickback but so what, it's unlikely they would recommend someplace that was terrible because word would get out.
