E-biking in Berner Oberland

Hi there, my husband and I will be travelling to the Berner Oberland in two weeks, staying 5 nights in Grindelwald. We will be purchasing the Berner Oberland Regional Pass, and plan on taking many mountain lifts and doing several of the most popular hikes.

The accommodations we are staying at offer free e-Bikes to use. I am wondering if anyone can give some recommendations of bike trails we can take these e-bikes on, and places we can travel to on them. For example, is it feasible to bike from Grindelwald to Wengen, Murren, or Lauterbrunnen?

Are there any nice bike rides we can do in the evening near our home base of Grindelwald, as the mountain lifts seem to stop after 5 or 6 pm?

Thank you!

Don't know which mountain lifts you're talking about but the last lift to Murren departs Stechelberg at 23:45 and the last train from Lauterbrunnen to Wengen departs 23:30 both of which are considerably later than your estimated 5 or 6 pm.

In our past travel, we have embarked on a self supported bike trip from Zurich through many mountain passes. We rode from Interlaken to the lift area below Grindelwald. The ride is about 20 miles and slightly up. Then, we locked our bikes and took advantage of local transportation options. It is steep in these areas even for walking! Erickson Bike Tours provides a trip to the Swiss Alps and has information regarding the altitude gains. I have seen a E Bike go up 4% grade rather quickly. I am not sure what it could do on 10-25% grade. Happy travels!

Thank you! And it is good to know about the lifts. We have had trouble finding operating times, and know for the Manlichen and Grindelwald First lift, they only operate until around 5 pm. Regardless of lift times, any other e-biking suggestions!?

Thanks!!
