Driving route from Milan to Innsbruck

Hi,

I have one full day (October 19th 2025) to drive from Milan to Innsbruck and I wanted to get some feedback on which of the following two routes would be recommended if my interest includes postcard alpine meadows surrounded by green valleys with waterfalls and lakes, historic European villages:

Option 1 Milan → Lake Como → Chiavenna → Bolzano → Val Gardena (Dolomites) → Innsbruck

Option 2 Milan → Lake Como → Chiavenna → Maloja Pass → St. Moritz → Engadin Valley → Resia Pass → Innsbruck
