Keeping in mind that we want to pack light, do people change clothes for dinner? If yes, what type of attire? We will be visiting in mid August.

Hi,
I’ve been on 7 Rick Steves tours. At dinner, everyone is casual and just wears what they have on for the day or change into the clothes they are going to wear the next day.

10 tours here. Always very casual. No need to change unless you want to.
Switzerland was one of my favorite tours. Eat a bit of chocolate for me!

Ditto to what has been said. I have been on over a dozen RS tours. No one changes clothes or dresses up for group dinners.

While I’ve not been on this particular tour, there have been times on other tours when we went straight from the day’s activities to dinner without time to change.
On other RS tours I’ve done that included Switzerland, there were times we had to manage our suitcases on and off the gondola as well. It looks like your tour stays in Muerren and this is the location where that was the case. Much better to pack light as you are planning!

12 tours here. Wear what you want. The only time I’ve tried to look a bit nicer was going as a group in Salzburg to a dinner concert on the GAS tour.
