My wife and I will be doing the Fondue Chinoise Cruise in Zurich on 12/9. Is there a dress code for those lake cruises? Couldn't find anything on their website nor other forums. We're trying to pack as light as possible, so if I can get by with a nice pair of jeans, I'd love that.
If a specific dress code isn't mentioned on the site, my guess is that there isn't one. Looking clean and put together seems to suffice for almost anything any more.
Look at the videos and you'll see most people are dressed in casual clothes.
I agree with both previous responses.
I don't know if this is a posh event, but otherwise, the Swiss are quite practical people who are more subdued and classic. The Swiss people I know, who are quite wealthy, all dress in high quality clothes that are very casual (slightly less casual as they get older, so the 25 year old is super casual, his parents a bit less so, and his grandparents just a bit fancier). They would wear khakis and a turtleneck to an event like this. Fondue isn't really a tux and tails thing.
In my experiences with winter boat cruises in Vancouver, they can be damp and chilly, or conversely, humid and overheated. Perhaps dressing in layers . . . for a Euro look, remember to bring a jaunty scarf (stick it in your pocket if you don't need it)
We Swiss are not very big on dress codes, so long as you wear clothes you'll be fine.

😊 😊 😊
The RS forum mantra: Nobody cares what you wear, so whatever you wear is OK.

Maybe the best reply I've ever seen on this forum. :-D
