Do we only need the Berner Oberland Pass for this itinerary?

We have a trip to Switzerland for our family coming up soon. 2 adults, 3 year old and 1 year old.

I have made a spreadsheet and ran the numbers on our itinerary comparing (1) BOP only or (2) BOP + HFC. It seems we would come out slightly better (roughly 50 CHF) by only buying a BOP for the two adults -- rather than also buying BOP and HFC.

But I would appreciate any inoput to make sure I am not missing any benefits of the HFC.

Here's our itinerary:

[Flying into MXP]
Train/bus from MXP to Domodossola
Train Domodossola to Lauterbrunnen

Lauterbrunnen to Schynige Platte
Lauterbrunnen to Interlaken
Lauterbrunnen to Wengen
Lauterbrunnen to Mannlichen
Lauterbrunnen to Brienz Lake and Brienz Rotterhorn
Lauterbrunnen to Grindelwald + Eiger Express (15 mins) to Eigergleistcher
Gimmelwald to Murren
Gimmelwald to Allmendhubel
Gimmelwald to Kleine Scheidegg
Gimmelwald to Schilthorn

Train to Colmar, France

You don't say how many days you are in the Berner Oberland. Are you staying in 2 different places, Lauterbrunnen and Gimmelwald? If so, why?

My bad, Sam! I forgot to say how long we are staying in each. Staying 3 nights in Lauterbrunnen and 4 nights in Gimmelwald.
We will go back to Switzerland another time to see other places.
There is plenty for our young family to see and do in this area (and still get naps and rest).
We're excited!

I believe you are right. Just wondering about the itinerary. One day going from Lauterbrunnen to Grindelwald to Eigergletcher, and another day, Gimmelwald to Kleine Scheidegg. Why not just go one day (Lauterbrunnen or Gimmelwald) to Kleine Schiedegg, then rail to Eigergletcher. And staying 2 different places just a couple of miles from one another.

PS. Be sure to use the RE 1 train between Domodossola and Spiez. the BORP is not valid on the fast trains using the Loetschberg Base Tunnel.
