Disruption on my route. Is it enough to change our plan?

We'll be traveling from Lauterbrunnen to Montreux on August 30. I've read that instead of going the faster route, it's worth going via Zweisimmen to get the wonderful Golden Pass experience between Zweisimmen and Montreux. On August 30 there is no train service on a section of the line between Spiez and Zweisimmin.

Construction work: Boltigen - Zweisimmen
Between Boltigen and Zweisimmen on the Spiez - Zweisimmen line, no train services are operating.
Trains RX 40xx / R 68xx are cancelled between Boltigen and Zweisimmen.
Replacement bus services are operating Boltigen - Zweisimmen.
Connections are provided in Boltigen + Zweisimmen.
Reason: Construction work
Duration from 28.08.2016 22:00 until 10.09.2016 05:00.
Please listen to the loudspeaker announcements in the train.
Please note the information at the station.
The online timetable at www.sbb.ch will be changed.

Will this be enough of a disruption that we should change our plan and go the faster route instead?

Cindy,

I'd probably use the faster trains as I generally like to minimize travel times. However, using the Golden Pass is still any option as the railway line will have alternative bus transport arranged. I've had to do that several times. The warning to "listen to the loudspeaker announcements" is a nice thought, but in my experience the announcements are often only in German. I've been fortunate so far in that there has always been a helpful individual seated nearby who could translate.

Well speaking as a Swiss, I don't see any reason to change plans. It will may be add an extra 20 - 30 mins to the trip but that is about it.

I would consider the bus to be part of the adventure. This might be a day that you choose to use the railway's Express Luggage option (formerly call Fast Baggage).
