We are staying in Lucerne and I have a strong desire to visit the Alsace Lorraine region (ancestry etc.). I know it would take a full day but I wanted to get feedback from anyone who has attempted to do a day trip to Colmar....
Any advice or places to visit are helpful and appreciated.

I know everyone hates Rome2Rio, but it doesn't look too unrealistic to do this trip. 2 hours or so, 1 train change.
Follow up with a real train booking site.

It is just that using www.sbb.ch is so much more accurate the R2R. Exact times and prices.
