Day trip from Varenna, Lake Como, to Switzerland

Hello! My friend and I are planning a trip to Lake Como in September this year and have booked a hire car. We plan to do a day trip into Switzerland one of the days, and having looked at a few posts and recommendations I've put together a very rough plan for the day. I'm wondering if this is reasonable/ achievable, and if anyone has any suggestions or comments - all advice welcome! We know we'll need to get a vignette. We'd plan to stop off along the way in little villages or pretty stops as well, if possible. Thanks in advance!

Varenna - cross the border at Castasegna - Majola pass - Engadin Valley- turn back round at Zernez - Diavolezza (take cable car up and get lunch - aware it'll be expensive in Switzerland!) - Bernina Pass - Tirano - Varenna

You won't need a vignette as you won't be driving on motorways. If questioned at Castasegna, tell your itinerary and explain that you will not be driving on toll roads.
If you want to ride the cable car, leave early. Those roads look short on the map, but are very slow to drive (and frankly, Google maps driving times always look underestimated to me).
