I will be there early May for 5 days and have limited free time. Any day trip recommendations? Advice? Resources for tours? Biking may be questionable because of the weather but I’m open to it, if the weather is nice. I’d love to go somewhere near the Alps for scenery?

Neuchatel, You can go one way by boat (2 hours) and one way by train (23 minutes).
It is about 2 3/4 hours to Muerren to see the big Alps.

Bern is a short train trip, and it is a fun city to wander around for a day trip.
Thun is just over an hour away by train; you have some great views of the Alps (including Eiger) looking over the lake from there. It has interesting medieval streets to wander and several small castles and a nice lakefront trail. You can also take a scenic boat ride along part of the lake (if time is short) or around the lake.
Avenches is a brief train ride away and about 30 minutes by bike; it has an old Roman amphitheater.
