Arrived today and it was pouring so mostly a write off but I’m cautiously optimistic that tomorrow looks okay. Hearing that mornings are better we are planning right after breakfast to walk to Lauterbrunnen, explore and have lunch. I was thinking in the afternoon of going to Grindelwald and doing Pfingstegg, Gindelwald First sounds amazing and probably better but I think it’s still quite snowy. We have one more full day the next day too. Any advice on best destinations given that it’s still quite cold and snowy in places, and lots of things closed! I’m confusing myself - I do research, only to find out something is closed and now I’m not sure what’s the best use of our time! For clarification we are medium hikers, but definitely want beautiful views more than anything so happy to take short trains to places throughout the BO.
Tomorrow looks like dry and overcast, however Thursday looks quite good. So stuff that involves enjoying the scenery is maybe best done on Thursday. Once the sun is out even out on the snow is pleasant.
Thursday also the cable car to Grütschalp should be operating so you could do the Mürren circuit (return via Stechelberg).
But yes, if you come in May you have to deal with unpredictable weather, and the fact that the locals like to go on holiday as well...
