Cow statutes

Hi,
So this will be a funny question but we really wanted to see these cow statutes I see pictures of. I saw a picture of a great red cow statute but it didn't say where it was. We are in Switzerland March 16-29. Where can we find these pretty cow statutes?! Are they stored away in a barn during winter or left around all year? Wish we were there for the cow parade but statutes will do great if we can find them.
Thanks for not laughing too hard when replying!

Your question asks about cow "statutes", statutes are laws. Perhaps you meant to ask about cow statues?

They are all over, and mini ones are for sale at many highway rest areas and tourist shops. Probably at large supermarkets such as MMMigros (at least 2 M's) or large Coops.

In terms of the painted concrete or plastic full sized animals you need to be looking in town squares, outside transportation centres, some restaurants, and various places all over. Moevenpick always has them. Probably at some border crossings. I don't know where to specifically find a red one; they are all painted differently.

You could also look out for the purple Milka cows around ski slopes and other sporting facilities. Sometimes they are great big blow up ones at sporting events.... Milka is a Swiss milk chocolate product advertised by purple cows.

Good luck finding your cows....

Yes, that was a typo- posted that from my phone. So much for that auto correct feature.
Thank you for the info on finding my cows statues!

You might find them in Zurich and Geneva (and possibly other places) in Switzerland. Usually these are part of the 'cow parades' which have been in many cities around the world but were started in Zurich by a Swiss artist. Zurich was in 1998 and Geneva in 2005 so not sure how many are still around and how many have been moved to other cities/towns but I'm sure they're around being used as advertising and such as well as artistic installations.

Here's a website about the parades:

Interestingly I saw one of the small (maybe a foot long) ones in a restaurant in Venice today. It was a black and white one with a row of multi coloured teapots along the spine of its back!!!!

Nigel, how's Venice today?
And I hope you've been focusing on cow statues and not cow statutes.
