Just thought to pass this on: the Swiss Covid Certificate app says verification of the QR code requires a personal ID. This turns out to be true. So far our experience has been either restaurants have outdoor dining and don't care about the certificate, or when they do check, they do require a photo ID. A passport suffices, but we also successfully used our half-fare card (with photos) as the photo ID. Happy & safe travels!

To add to Lauren’s excellent info, some restaurants are insisting on the official COVID certificate and will not accept vaccination cards (I read that as CDC cards) or self-tests. Seems like indoor dining might be safer than eating outside now since all unvaccinated people now mst dine outdoors.
