Confusion on Golden Pass Line with Travel Pass

HELP. I am really confused. I was attempting to use Rick's suggestion on trip from Luzern-Montreaux but seem to have some problems in figuring it out. I can find the 1st leg from Luzern to Interlocken Ost at 08:06. For the 2nd leg from Interlocken Ost-Zweisimmen it looks like my best bet is to get an IC train from SBB (a lot more options). Then take the Golden Pass line again at 14:25. from Zweismmen-Montreaux. Am I making this too complicated?
We plan on getting the 8 day Swiss Travel Pass, but apparently can't get that for at least a few more days. Am I correct in understanding that when I look at the Golden Pass if I want to reserve seats my reservation is covered by the pass, but I am paying a charge to reserve a particular seat?

No, reservation fees are not covered by the Swiss Travel Pass, they are extras. They cost 5 CHF per person. The "Golden Pass" can refer to the train route from Luzern to Montreux, but it is really 3 separate trains, operated by 3 separate private railway companies. Luzern to Interlaken Ost by Zentralbahn, Interlaken Ost to Zweisimmen by the BLS railway, and Zweisimmen by the MOB railway. The last is also called the Golden Pass train, some of which have panoramic cars that connect with the other trains. That one has recommended (but not required) seat reservations in the summer. The other two generally do not need seat reservations. The Luzern-Interlaken train goes every hour and has panorama cars. The Interlaken-Zweisimmen train has no panorama cars.
