Hi - wondering what sort of clothing we should wear for an early July trip to the Jungfraujoch and that region? I am sure we would need to plan on layers, but how heavy should those layers be? Would a light jacket and sweater/sweatshirt be enough or do we need something heavier for the mountaintops? Thanks for you your help!

We took silk long johns , a sweatshirt and a mid weight ( Lands End Squall) jacket which was more than enough. Granted we did not spend much time at the top - just took the train and spent some time in observatory. Did not do any outdoor stuff. For the Schilthorn ( which we actually enjoyed more, the sweatshirt was adequate. I find that Lands End jacket terrific for trips- it squished down and is just the right weight. My dad also used a fleece instead and that worked as ell. bring gloves.
You will love it - i could go back tomorrow!!

Yes, just layer up the clothes you're already planning to pack. I would not bring any extra clothes just for the trip to the J.
