The second week of October we will be spending one night in Chur after taking the Bernina Express from Italy. We will be staying across the street from the train station and are looking for a good place to eat, preferably in the area, but we are willing to take a cab.
We are foodies, open to much most any type of cuisine or food. After traveling all day, we do not want a Michelin star restaurant, but a nice relaxing meal for a 150 euro or less for two people would be great.
I did the same route as you just three weeks ago. We stayed one night in Tirano, took the Bernina Express the following day and then spent one night in Chur before continuing on by rail the next day. We ate dinner that evening in Chur at a lovely Chinese restaurant called Han Kung. The food was delicious and the service was very good. It is not far from the train station, a very easy walk. We had been travelling for three weeks eating local cuisine everywhere and were ready to try something different, and we read good reviews of this Chinese restaurant. I know it is not probably your expected recommendation but it was good and we enjoyed our evening there. The hostess ( or possibly the owner or manager - I am not sure) was particularly friendly and attentive. Lots of locals dining there.
