Hello,
Is there only one train station in Chiasso? I'm considering traveling by train from Venice to Chiasso via Milan before continuing my journey to Zurich (using my Swiss Travel Pass). Would this work? I keep seeing on Rail Europe Chiasso CH and Chiasso It.
Any help would be great!
It is only one train station, but if buying a train ticket from Italy, then specify Chiasso IT so that Rail Europe can draw from the Italian database. It's not necessary to do that on the German schedule site, for instance.
So my Swiss Travel Pass will work on the leg from Chiasso to Zurich? Sounds great!
Yup. Chiasso is just a border station. Basically the Italian crew leaves the train and a Swiss crew boards. Its generally a 10-15 minute station stop; unless you're on a local train you won't even need to change trains.
