Many of you know and love Mürren. Since we last visited in October 2019, there have been some changes. New buildings, refreshing/updating of existing buildings, much as anywhere in the Western world.
Most notably, and sadly, the view terrace/observation deck south of the Chinese restaurant is slated to become luxury condos.

Next thing you know, the cruise ships will be stopping there.
Same in Wengen and all over the BO, condos and new chalets we noticed. The hotel we were at was very happy though they are booked solid for ski season when last year they had record snow and no one visiting.
Hi Laurel, we’ve stayed in Murren several times and love it there. Often dreamed about living in one of the little homes in the valley. Wonder what the luxury condos will cost $$$$!
We are in Mürren this week, and have exactly the same impression. Fortunately, the mountain peaks are spectacular as always and, maybe because it is later into the fall, the trails are not crowded. But it is definitely not the quiet sleepy town that we remembered.
