We were originally planing to visit Malcesine on Lake Garda after staying in Pontresina in July but I just found out the train line from Tirano to Milan is closed until September and they are using buses instead. I fear this could be mayhem and we may be waiting hours with other tourists for a bus making an already long journey very stressful. Thinking of changing course and going instead to Ascona or Lugano for 4 nights. It will be myself, husband and 14 year old son. We’re pretty active and usually like hiking, biking and exploring. Would love to get opinions on what may be a better fit or should we just stick with Lake Garda?
